Power cut on road; now everyone else back on but us?!?

Your electrical utility would not say that. They have people on 24 hour emergency to fix the power lines and yeah you pay for that service in your rates. You just happened to get a student at the other end that does not know the policy of the utility company. Ring them again and again. What if you were a hospital in the middle of an emergency surgery?

. Get somebody to get somebody to fix it for you if your main breaker box is on . Wires go to the house usually to the attached garage area and there they put the main throw switch.

From that panel it goes to your breaker box. Click all your breakers off after you made sure that the main throw switch is ON. (on the other side of the main switch is the electrical meter outside)

. After you are sure that is on then flick on every breaker switch, one(or a double) at a time. Everything should work.

. If not you hit the phone again as they have a 24 hour emergency number and somebody will be out there pronto.

yes

I presume you have gone to your fuse box and looked to see if the switch has tripped to 'off' , and turned it on if it has. I know stupid suggestion but it is a possibility.

now if they can't get to you till tomorrow, don't open your freezer it will stay frozen for upto 24 hours if you leave it alone. only open your fridge when you really have to. now do you camp, if not do any of the neighbours. if so ask can you borrow their camp stove at least you can make a cuppa. or alternatively take a thermos to their house and ask for hot water for a cuppa. phone first thing tomorrow to make sure they come to you as soon as is possible. anything perishable that is ruined charge to the power company its their fault so they pay plus inconvenience of being without electric.

Hi all,

I live in West Yorkshire, UK. Our power went off for some workmen earlier today on the road behind ours for hours. Not only was that annoying, now everyone else has come back on but not us?! We live on a street with 2 other houses and we are the middle house. We are on an electricity meter which isn't on at all now and won't display anything or light up. Not only am I frustrated, I don't know what to do?

I rang northern power grid and they said they can't do anything until tomorrow, and eon is not open for advice either... meanwhile my fridge and freezer food is all defrosted and spoiled, we can't use the oven, kettle, toaster, or shower as it's an electric one!

Does anyone have any ideas on what it may be? Or what we can do to get it fixed?

Thanks
