plastic.if you will use paper then more trees will be cut down.plastic is not right for the environment too.it is better to take a bag made of cloth to the market.this can be used many times and help to stop the production of plastic and paper bags.
I hate plastic with every fiber of my being. I work retail and I live for the day plastic bags are outlawed in the US. I can never get the stupid things open to load them.
When I go to the grocery store I bring my own reusable bags. I have insulated bags for frozen foods. I have bags that are 2+ years old.
Everyone disparages paper, but the fact is that there are whole forests planted just for the paper industry. They don't use old growth wood for paper. Plus there are alternatives to wood pulp for making paper. Bamboo paper is wonderful. It is thin but strong. Hemp makes great paper.
The way to get rid of plastic bags is to hit the public where it hurts - in the pocketbook.
Ireland initiated a 33 cents per plastic bag surcharge. Ireland doesn't use plastic anymore.
If I have an option, I go with paper since it is biodegradable, can be composted, recycled, can be burnt (if you have a wood stove). Plastic is very harmful for the environment - just look up the mockumentary on youtube, the life of a plastic bag.
I really like plastic. I find it much easier to carry and they can be used a few times afterwards. I never really understood why anyone would prefer paper. They always rip and they're difficult to carry.

paper is better because it is degradable but plastic is bio-degradable. by using plastic we can create a plastic monster that means millions of people just dump little plastic means we can create a plastic monster. i request everyone to not use plastic.
