i recycle almost everything
and i belong to freecycle also
Recycling is incredibly important, though some materials are more valuable than others. For example, aluminum can be recycled over and over again by just melting and reforming. The process for extracting aluminum from the ground has a devastating environmental impact, therefore if we can just recycle what we already have we aren't increasing demand for more mining.
An example where recycling isn't as sustainable, is around very strong plastics (#6, 7..). In order to recycle these back to their original strength you need to input a lot of chemicals which themselves require petroleum products, energy, etc in order to manufacture.
Paper and cardboard recycling is great, as long as the facility recycling the paper is not using bleach in the process and if the rinsewater used gets treated and recycled through the process again and again. This is needed to drive water conservation and limit the amount of dioxins in our water.
There really is no simple answer. It's dependent upon each material being recycled. Each needs it own life cycle analysis to understand its true benefits.
Recycling is very important, as it helps to keep costs down as well as reducing the need for raw materials.
However, a lot of rubbish is sent abroad to be sorted and recycled, which has a negitive impact on the environment.
So in my opinion, recycling is not a perfect solution when it comes to reducing the impact our consumerist lives have, but it's possibly the best one we've got at the moment.
Recycling is very good for environment and it will also reduce cost. All government should give importance to recycling.
In our office, We will collect papers and sent it for recycling.
We also need to find innovative ways for recycling.
Recycling is a very good method for reducing the waste. If we recycle we can reduce the amount of raw materials that we take from the earth, hence it will last for longer period and for our future generations.
To me, recycling is extremely important to make life sustainable on this planet. If we don't recycle the stuff we use, soon enough, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is going to be the World Garbage Patch.
