The ultimate source of energy for plants is sunlight. The sun allows the plants to manufacture their own food. The plant can make food through converting the sun into food. This process is called Photosynthesis.
Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis is a process done by the plant with the help of the sun. This process is when the energy from the light of the sun is converted by the plant into food. If the plt does not have enough sunlight, it will not be able to have enough food to sustain itself. With out the sun, it will not grow and live.
Process
The light of the sun is absorbed by the leaves of the plant. Then, when the light of the sun enters the plant through the leaves, the energy of the sun’s light is turned into sugar. The sugar will then serve as the food of the plant, making the plant grow and live.
Benefits
Photosynthesis does not only give benefits to the plant, but it can give benefits to all the organisms in Earth. Photosynthesis allows the plants to create and release oxygen into the air. This makes humans and other living things breathe and live. If the plants are healthy due to photosynthesis, then it can also be food source to humans and other living organisms. This is how important photosynthesis is for the ecosystem.

Its the sun,plants use the energy they get from the sun to produce carbohydrate (photosynthesis) which they later consume.
if a plant does not have all of those things it will die, because it needs them to go through photosynthesis and cell respiration, which produce "food" for the plant...
The main energy source is sunlight. From sunlight plants takes light for proper growing. The other sources are water, air, minerals and soil. From all sources they get lot of air, water and proper nutrients.
