Is it normal for a brand new dryer to have a burning smell?

A lot of new dryers have a hot or burnt smell for a while until all parts have operated for a while to get rid grease on peoples hand prints and painted areas close to the heating element. Also there is an electronic smell you can smell for awhile. If the wiring for the dryer is correct with the correct breaker rating.all will be well and the smell will lessen in time.Continue to monitor it for a while if there is a real concern.

The lint trap is clean by the way.

I've only had this dryer for about a month and used it only about 10 times, I just put some clothes in and opened the door after 2 minutes of drying and there's a hot burning smell. I can only smell it if I put my head almost inside the dryer, but I'm terrified of fires. Is this normal? I don't want my clothes to mildew though :/
