Why is my poop green?

Posted at: 2015-05-24
my poop has been green for about a week now and im wondering why that is. Help Please!

I believe I've answered this question once already. Its called, "going green", and everybody is talking about it.

Green stool is not usually considered abnormal. Green stool may most likely be caused by dietary intake and is closely related to the amount of bile in the stool. Diet can also effect stool color. Green vegetables, such as spinach and broccoli can cause green stool, and foods containing green food coloring can have the same result. Another factor that could contribute to green stool is mucus. If you have green stool with other symptoms and cannot think of a reason why your bowel movements may have changed, call your doctor.

Depends what you eat. The same can happen to urine, if you eat lots of beetroot your urine will turn red (true story). Once i had green peppermint flavoured icecream and my poop went green, but it was only temporarily. Your enzymes in your stomach are probably malfunctioning. Go to the pharmacy and see what solutions they've got.

Lot of green foods can do it but even without it isn't unusual If you have other symptoms along with it you might see a doc

If it is really bright green, it is from your stomach bile.

spinach? blueberries? lots of salad?

from the food you eat.
