B. transportation
C. Residential (homes)
D. Industrial ( factories)
Transportation - approx.70%
Industrial - approx.24%
Residential - 5%
Electrical - 1%
N.B. Bear in mind that transportation does not mean only gasoline but roads, tyres, bitum, plastic and many other derivates used.
Residential and service consumes 36% while industry consumes 27.8% and transportation consumes 27.7%. Although we would all like to blame transportation, it's our desire to live in comfort that consumes the energy. The interesting thing is that our current comfort levels can easily be met with much less energy with passive solar, even air conditioning could be met passively.
As an educated guess I would suggest transportation. This is because petroleum is used on a large scale as a fuel and with population being high, demand for this fuel used in air craft and generally will be very high and these are non-renewable and therefore constantly being used in transportation.
Must be B.
99 percent of transportation use only fuel.
