Which of the following is not a renewable biofuel?

A. Wood chips

B. petroleum ( crude oil)

C. Ethanol made from corn

D. Methane captured from decaying cow manure

The important thing to note is how long they take to renew. Wood chips takes years for another tree to grow, corn takes a growing season to grow but our current production methods uses fossil fuels such that it takes 30% more energy to produce corn ethanol than is in the ethanol itself. Cows take a dump every day however only a small portion are converted by bacteria into methane. However petroleum develops over millions of years. Petroleum is still renewable in a sense but not likely in our lifetime or the lifetime of our civilization or even that of mankind.

Petroleum is non renewable biofuel. It is formed when large quantities of dead organisms are buried underneath sedimentary rock and undergo intense heat and pressure. Petroleum develops over millions of years. So petroleum is not renewable in our lifetime.

Petroleum is not,it cannot be replaced once used however the other, bio fuels stated all are renewable
