Of course the people selling em to you aren't gonna tell you about this and many are made in China where the government couldn't care less about pollution, not only do the people suffer, this will eventually reach us.
We've been working on paintable solar cells for quite some time. The latest version are based on plants. The efficiencies aren't very high but they are cheap and conceivably every man made structure could become solar panels. However, the reason why solar hasn't taken off is that they would rather charge you every month for your power not just for the installation. Some companies have structured contracts where you own the panels after their rated life of 20 years and you pay per month for the power, those work because people have such a poor understanding of the time value of money that they can't evaluate the benefit or lack thereof.
We wanted solar panels for years but could not plunk down the $25000 for the investment. Then along came SunRun, known now as Solmentum. They install them for free, you pay them a rate lower than your current electric company, and in 20 years you own them! Wow it was a great decision and I feel good about how much we have saved the environment. Their website lets you graph out what your savings have accumulated. Dont try to do it yourself. The inverter is a tricky thing and you will never be officially OFF GRID because the power company will not let you be off of their system completely.
Solar panels are easy to obtain. But the money is the problem. How money will circulate? It is connected to economics. And our scientist are busy in their history rather than a good future. Because they know future can wait but they do not know when it is too late.
Investing in renewable energies means you will become eligible for a tax credit. You should speak with a tax professional before investing in solar energy to make sure the system you are interested in is certified and will make you eligible for this tax credit
I know that solar panels are available now, but they are too expensive for people to use, and they are too expensive to manufacture. I just need a brief answer on when are solar panels are "easily" obtainable to the general public. Please add sources.
