Well Fargo "Instant Issue Debit Card"?

Posted at: 2015-05-24
Today i set up an account with them. My card comes in the mail next week. In the meanwhile i was issued an "Instant Issue Debit Card" while i wait on my permanent card. I was told it works the same as a regular card. I deposited a $1.5k check on my account through the accountant/rep. I just tried to use my card twice and was both times declined, (once at a store, the other at an ATM). The ATM said i had "insufficient funds", which is bullsh*t because i just put $1.5k on the account.

The hell is a instant issue debit card really? because the bulls*it aint working.

Anybody know what is going on? can i sue?

Im mad.

Checks do not clear until midnight. If your account was new, you should check your reciept and see if there was a hold put on your check.

The instant debit card is probably one of the greatest things WF offers. It gives you access to your AVAILABLE balance to your new account without having to wait 7-10 days. IF you lose your debit card, you can go get an instant one at any WF (whether youre on vacation, etc) so youre not without a debit card.

Check takes time to clear. I only get $100 available when I deposit a check. How much were you trying to spend? Other than that, I really don't know. But you can't sue them for that. You could take away your business, or complain to the manager.

At the store i only tried to pay for a $1.25 bag of chip and a gatorade.

I had my account set up at around 3pm at 9:30pm i went to the atm and was still declined.

Have you activated it? when cards come by mail they need to be activated first through calling your bank
