Protest against house building?

I suggest you confirm this with Planning at your Council. I saw the BBCs TV documentary about Planning earlier this year, and usually if they win on appeal that is it. This is happening all over England.

If the builders appealed then you should have been told of the appeal, the government have now made it almost impossible to maintain any democratic right to keep our countryside a picture for future generations. I am afraid they are not considering you and I they are making way for more and more immigrants to fill those houses you mention. If you keep on voting for the same old three corrupt political parties then expect no change, if you don't vote expect no change. There is only one political party that can protect our countryside and halt the floods of cheap Labour and that is the BNP. UKIP have no intention of fulfilling any such role, so unless you can get used to the idea of voting BNP expect no change and I am sorry your views on the country side are practically wasted.

Hello,

I live in a very small village in the Cotswolds, UK and in my village there is a number of houses and small church ( just imagine the stereotypical 100 year old English settlement).

Behind my home there is a large apple orchard and a couple of months ago a big company bought the land and applied to build 50 or so homes on it. This was appealed against by all the locals, myself included and the planning permission was denied, so we thought nothing of it. Yet today, a neighbour informed me that the company applied once more but this time had gotten permission.

For me this is a disaster as now instead of looking out onto a beautiful orchard and rolling hills I will now have to look at tacky, new and cheap housing. Not to mention if you assume each new family will have two cars, the amount of traffic that will go through our dainty village!

The orchard is very old and has been in the area for generations and now they plan to build the houses all the trees will be cut down! As far as I know there is nothing to protect these trees.

So I was wondering, what are mine and my neighbours rights? Can we appeal again? What kind of protests are legal? What can we do to try and stop or at least slow this transaction? I love my village and would hate to see this occur.

Thank you.
