My Debit card all of a sudden stopped working?

I can't make any transactions what so ever, and when I go through to check the balance at the ATM it has the balance in parenthesis. Bank isn't open til tomorrow. Anyone know what could be going on? It worked fine yesterday.

I agree, parentheses mean a negative amount, in other words, an overdrawn account. If you thought you had ample money in the account, call the number on the back of the card, or look at recent transactions online. It could be someone has stolen your number. If that's the case, you can usually get all your money back, even from a debit card.

The fact that you can get a negative balance at all suggests to me that you have overdraft "protection" on the account. Personally, I always decline that, because although it sounds good, it really gives the bank license to charge you all kinds of additional fees. And as you can see, the card still shuts off after a slight negative balance.

Sounds like your account has a negative balance. Talk to the bank first thing Monday.

Happens to me all the time, ******* banks have an automated process where if you use your card outside the norm they block it for fraud. You either need to phone the premium rate phone number which costs a fortune and sit on hold for half an hour or drag yourself all the way to the bank when it opens!

See, I haven't used it outside of where I normally would :( I'll have to go tomorrow and see whats up I guess. Happy Mothers Day to me lols

you need to put mo money in your account now to use yo card cause right now u be over drawn

A balance in paranthesis is negative. That means you do not have any money in the account.
