Can I make money in the alternative energy area?

you may want to consider focusing on services in conjunction with another companies products. Try being the local firm to install solar panels, build biodiesel reactors on site, or create wood-pellet heating systems for new construction.

That way, you aren't saddled with a buttload of overhead and can maintain a position as a well-compensated expert in alternative energy.

I'm currently studying renewable energy because I have the same ambition! The fossil fuels from which we currently source our energy are finite, and will be used up in the not so distant future. Needless to say, it is essential that the use of alternative sources of energy surpasses that of coil, oil and natural gas if we are to continue our lives driven by cars, iPads, phones, computers, tv, aircraft, streetlights etc.

Unfortunately people are set in their ways and, at the moment, brush off the idea that something has to change. For that reason, you'll probably find that a renewables business won't become the instant money machine that it should be. However, a renewable energy revolution has to happen at some point, and you could get a head start :)

Best of luck!

You won't make to much money with the alternate fuels you're talking about. They aren't efficient enough yet. Gas and oil are just too cheap to go with those type of alternative energies for the time being. When we improve them, it will be a good idea to make money in that field.

However,

A great alternative energy you should consider learning about is fusion. We still don't understand it fully yet, but we have made leaps and bounds of new discoveries. It will be the cheap, clean, and nearly limitless energy of the future in maybe 30 years.

Depends on how good of a salesman you are.

it is grand idea, you may become a millionaire soon

I want to sell alternative energy products and consulting.

I want to sell bio diesel, biomass pellets, solar panels, residential vertical wind-turbines.

I'm I just dreaming, or is this a good idea?
