I think first you should discover what your style is - are you preppy? Grunge? Classic? I mean, I know you said you don't have one, but see what you gravitate towards in store. I think you should first build up on essentials (neutral tees, well fitting jeans, etc) and these can be found at most places, but I recommend JC Penney and Macy's because it's cheap. Another place with a good sized guy collection (I've never bought from it but it's huge) is Aeropostale.Also try to hit up other stores, like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Old Navy and Kohl's.

Forever21 has nice choices for guys too.
