I recently got some briefs because boxer breifs seam to ride up especially when I sit crosslegged, but when I sit down with briefs I feel the seam just below my butt and it hurts. And I always feel it when I walk around. I have waist size of 30 and I even got a size 34 briefs to try and still it hurts. Sounds like you've got really thick thighs. Underwear is generally made for "average sized" humans, not too twiggy and not too large. Maybe try a brand with larger leg holes? I've found Hanes tend to be larger.

Maybe try some other manufacturer which will not have such significant seam?
