FLEAS!!!! We have no pets and I have never had a flea problem. Whats the best way to be rid of them?

1/2 the battle with fleas are the eggs that go through their process at different times. The vacuum will pick up the adult fleas and as the fleas hatch, they can be vacuumed and this takes some time. A flea can be picked up on a pant leg or a shoe outside and brought inside and a flea will lay a lot of eggs and they hatch and the new fleas lay a lot of eggs. Spry will kill the hopping fleas, but not the eggs.

In a rented place, the landlord should be taking care of the issue.

The only way I know of to deal with fleas permanently is to call an exterminator, who will put down insect growth regulator. It's a slow fix - it doesn't kill fleas outright, but disrupts their life cycle, so fleas can't mature into adults. However, the cocoons of fleas will still hatch into adults for about a month. If you fog, all you do is kill the adult fleas. In a few days, new cocoons hatch, and you have more fleas. Also, if the fleas are coming from a neighbor or wildlife, it's important to put the growth regulator down around the yard, too.

Call the landlord and report the problem and ask them to exterminate.

In the mean time you can buy cans of flea spray at any hardware store, home store, or Walmart. Vacuum and spray the carpets. Vacuum everyday and apply the spray again in two or three days. The vibration of the vacuum causes the fleas to hatch out and be exposed to the spray. It is important to vacuum or have lots of activity in the room, otherwise the fleas just stay in their protective cocoon.

The landlord has the obligation to provide their tenants with a safe, secure, and healthy apartment.

You can't get rid of them if you don't know the source. Maybe some other tenant has pets and they have the fleas. If pets are not allowed, tell the other tenant your problem and if they don't offer to rid your apartment of fleas, tell them they have pets and pets are not allowed and you will tell the landlord.

So sorry to hear about your problem! Have a look at the Raid® System Creator, and based on the number of fleas you've been seeing, you'll receive appropriate product recommendations as well as cleaning and maintenance tips to help beat these bugs! http://www.raidkillsbugs.com/en-us/solut...

You will have to get the whole apartment sprayed. Do a thorough cleaning, washing everything. They live in the carpet and you can't get them out by vacuuming. This happened at one point when I had cats. We tried everything, but there is no other way.

about 3 days ago my roommate tells me he's seeing fleas in the apartment, I started seeing them in my room last night. This is driving me crazy, I have had nothing but problems here with black mold in the ceiling of my bathroom and now this. I'm already calling the state inspector about the mold and trying to get out of this place seeing as my sub lease is up in august but they got me to sign my yr lease early and now I'm seeing why, but even if i get out i still want these little ugly suckers gone.

Is it possible to get rid of them with out the use of foggers?
