Often yes, because it gives the impression of more space, and makes a small room more appealing.

Personally I don't care for them - for two reasons. The glass constantly shows dust and smudges. I don't appreciate seeing all movement reflected in the doors. The pros are that it can make a room appear bigger. Since I sleep in the bedroom and it is generally evening when I am in that room, I don't particularly care if it 'appears' bigger.
