What foods give u energy and not make u gain weight?

Every food but most especially, carb diets.

All food gives you energy. Calories are a measurment of energy. So, the more unspent calories you consume the more weight you will gain.

Now, some foods get much of their calories from fat which will in turn cause you to gain weight.

Really you are looking for carbohydrates. Simple carbs will give you short term immediate energy, like sugar.

Complex carbs are in grains and pasta (and other things of course) and they will give you more longterm energy, or energy for tomorrow. That is why you see marathon runners carbo-loading the night before a race.

Oils and fats have the highest energy density at 9 kcal / gram.

Proteins and carbohydrates (sugars and starches) all give you 4 kcal / gram.

Alcohol gives you 7 kcal / gram and is sometimes described as the fourth macronutrient. Excessive alcohol is very damaging though because it promotes unhealthy fat deposits around the internal organs - not to mention the risks of injury or death while under the influence, or liver failure resulting from prolonged alcohol abuse.

Sugar gives you immediate energy and carbohydrates give you long lasting energy. I would say to just stay away from fatty foods
