-make sure that you have your blinds or curtains closed (it keep the hot sun out)
-don't have all your electronics on(turn them off at the wall), they are the worst culprit of heat in a room
-if you do have something on, its advisable not to use it for too long as it will heat up quickly especially on hot days
-the ceiling fan does practically nothing except blow hot air around the room
-air con is a must and if your wanting only your room cool shut every door that would suck out the cool air
-have ice in a bowl in our room, and it will make things cooler too (not sure how, but it works for me)
hope this is helpful :)
>What are tricks to eliminate heat in your bedroom.?
Start by looking at where the heat is coming from. Whatever heat gets in there, the AC will have to pump back out.
The two biggest ones are probably:
1. Heat coming in through windows. Is air leaking in and how can you stop it? How much sunlight is coming into the room? Ordinary window glass lets in the infrared light (the same stuff that heat lamps put out) Common ways to minimize this heat is to: use trees or awnings outside to keep the direct sunlight off the windows, or use reflecting films (built into some newer windows or can be applied as a film). When I lived in NM I had one window that I placed a "reflector" in. This was just a piece of cardboard with aluminum foil wrapped around it.
2. Heat from electronics. Almost all the electricity you use in a room is eventually converted to heat. If all the electronics (including the fan & lights) use 1,000 watts, then the heat input will be the same as if you were using a 1 kW electric heater.
A window AC should dump most of it's heat outside, so don't count it it's electrical usage.
Ways to reduce you electric usage.
-Spend ~$25 on a Kill-a-Watt meter and find out how many watts things use.
-What kind of lights do you use? Old type incandescent bulbs use about 4 times the electricity of CLFs , florescent, or LED bulbs
-Turn computers/video games/whatever off or on standby when you aren't using them.
Check air conditioner. Filter clean? Duct open all the way? Laundry basket blocking the vent?
Keep the blinds pulled down during the day. That keeps the sun from entering your room. At night when it's cooler have a fan suck in the air to try and get the air flowing.
I think it is inevitable to turn the air conditioner on in Hong Kong by night of the most polluted city in this world. I dare say Hong Kong is the worst city to live in this world. Hoinan Island is far better than Hong Kong!! I never in Vegas before. However, it must be not worsen than Hong Kong. The room temperature is up to 30 C by night.

If you have central AC, you need to make sure that your duct is wide open, If it is, find the coldest room in the house and close the duct a little. Keep doing that until your room is the coldest in the house.
Buy a window AC
invite my wife over .because every time she gos to bed it gets cold
You have all that in your bedroom????
Spoiled boy.
I am in vegas and it gets hot. I have a laptop running now. Flat Television, x-box, Desktop computer, plus more. A ceiling fan is running. Most electronics are off now. I am asking this because even with the ac running it is still the hottest room. Any tips.
