Is the Republican Party done?

I think the problem is that the republican party is becoming more of a regional party than a national one. There are still many rural and southern parts of the country that are deep red. You are right that they are moving more and more to the right, especially in their primaries, just look at what happened to Eric Cantor. They may be losing ground as a national party but they still rule unchecked in many parts of the country. There is always a tipping point and I don't know what the party will do when they reach it. It would only take one well positioned candidate to rally them back toward the middle ground.

People said that the Democratic party was done years ago and still is going strong. So no

the Republican party is not done.

I was once a registered Democrat and once a registered Republican now I am just an Independent.

The Republican Party is just beginning.

Maybe you can start a moderate Tea Party. Seriously, you are right and justified.

Yes

I hope there is a cleansing all around the country and every lawless person is thrown out.

Democrats are lawless.

The Republican party is a bunch of cowards.

Concervatives are constitutional and lawabiding.

Not on ur life

hopefully the republican and democratic party is done and vanishes from existence.

Well done.

I have been a Moderate Republican all my life, but I think that I might want to leave the GOP. I think that they are done. They keep fighting and fighting but they don't learn anything. The fighting in the GOP is similar to the fighting in the Democratic Party back in the 80s. The Democrats became more moderate over time and they have survived. The Republicans don't want to become moderate. Even Rand Paul said that moderates have no future in the GOP. He said that. Honestly, they are becoming more extreme by day. It is harder for a Moderate Republican to win in Republican states now. The demographics are changing but they do not seem to care about surviving as a party. I know the GOP has been through some tough times in the past, but I don't seem them changing at all. Are they done as a party? Please give reasons based on logic to tell me whether I am right or wrong?
