There are only two ways for you to save money - spend less or earn more. Tell your boss if there any extra hours going, you like some overtime. Think about what you're spending - try to make a plan of your budget and see where the money's really going and think about how you could cut back.
Once I as on a tight budget and talked to a financial planner...he simply asked me my " DAILY SPENDING"...meaning how much do you spend daily on coffee..jumba juice..fast food...for lunch..a drink on the way home and maybe a quick dinner out....My answer was zero I simply did not have enough coming in to spend daily...no hamburger no coffee..no gift for the friends bd and for sure I never went to the mall....beyond saving all I had to pay rent and insurance on car and gas and cell phone I could afford ...fresh fruit...a banana and an orange...breakfast and lunch lots of water..tuna for dinner...an apple for an evening snack and lots of water...and a very tight food budget....
you simple need to know how much you need to make it to the next check gas and food and how much are the bills for the month...write it down...
you should be saving 1/3 of every check...
overall you need to have more control and have priorities and tell yourself you do not need it....no trips to the mall no fast food...nothing...
a budget takes work..a budget takes control...a budget has priorities and all theses habits take practice...
of course it is fun and easy to just spend but it is not practical for long term goals
when my financial planner really looked at daily spending in reference to only what I needed he thought it was amazing how tight I had arranged my budget to get ahead...he was amazed how healthy I ate and how I never wasted food and how much water I consumed...overall having a tight budget with priorities...made me healthier
in the long run I found a better job...got better housing and worked towards buying a house...so none of this could have happened if everytime I went to the mall I thought I needed something if this is your case go to the mall and not buy another practice that...
good luck

Start a separate bank account. trash the ATM card and the checks. Set up your direct deposit from work to put in $20 (or more) per pay period. Make it as hard as possible to get in and get that cash.
If you don't have direct deposit, make a trip to the bank on payday and deposit that money first before going to your main bank.
The harder it is to get it, the more you will save.
For a few weeks, carry around a small notebook and write down every cent you spend, then review it every week
take the money you want to save out and put it in the bank before you spend anyother money
Don't spend its simple
