Why are you saving? You're saving for a number of things:
1) So that when an emergency happens, you'll have money to cover it
2) So that when you DO find something you want to buy, you won't have to buy it on credit
3) So that if you want to help people in need, you'll have money to help
4) So that when you want to buy a house you can put down a healthy down payment (or if you're really good, pay cash for a house!!)
5) So that if you ever decide to get married and have kids, you won't go broke raising them.
6) So that you can put a portion into retirement and other investments so that it grows even faster so you can do 1-5 even moreso.
You'll be completely abnormal compared to your friends, and that's a good thing. Most people get saddled with debt most of their life. That's normal. You don't want to be normal!
GOOD JOB!
BTW, get a bank account and deposit that money. You don't want rolls of cash around the house.
Not a problem tell yourself you are buying financial freedom. I love having lots of investments more than I want consumer goods too. Now I am retired living off investment where the consumers might still be working or living on SS.
Saving means you can buy a house or anything else you want in the future instead of having worn out clothing and shoes.
