How do I make money when i'm 12?

Posted at: 2015-05-24
I am saving up for an xbox one. although i get $6 a week in allowance, i really do not want to wait that long. how can I get money pretty quickly?

(if you need to know, it is winter right now, and i live in the south, so it dosent snow very much)

In most states your not able to get a job until you're 14+. Until then, you can try the following:

? Pet Sit: Go around your neighborhood (It's best not to ask people you don't know.) and watch their dogs or cats while they're away or at work.

? Baby Sit: Maybe you can baby sit a cousin or relative.

? Car Wash: This may have to way until the spring/summer due to the weather.

? Yard Work: Offer to do neighbors yard work for a reasonable price.

? Dog Walk: With a parent's permission, you can walk your neighbors dog for then (Most likely if they're too old or weak to do it themselves).

Hope this helped! Good luck

kids were never meant to earn money. You're supposed to be a kid and learn to live within your parents' means since they're supporting you till you're 18. Whether you want to wait "that long" or not you're going to have to tell your mind that this item is a "want" and not a "need" and that you can wait till someone else can afford it.

When I was your age I never got an allowance so you're even luckier than I was. And I never had income coming in until i was 20 so you can wait. This waiting is good experience for you.

If you are good at math you can tutor younger children. Since you aren't really old enough to babysit you might tutor in their home with a parent present or at your home with a parent present. My niece would hire 13 year old boys to tutor her 10 year old special needs daughter in her home while she did housework . Worked out great the girl loved her older brother's friends and worked hard for them instead of fighting her mother and mom got housework done. You can teach music lessons too if you play an instrument. My cousin taught piano as a girl in exchange for learning other instruments.

Your parents should meet your needs, so you wouldn't need it if they were. Which means they need to make better decisions.

The best way to make money as a kid is to hustle. Listen to people, provide them with the stuff they need, ask for favors from them and take chances to work at every available opportunity.

I have Heard of stories where young people have had good, creative ideas and with help, have turned it into a real business that is making thousands in revenue, for example a young bot selling marbles over his own internet website, or a young girl selling customised flip flops to large retailers.

maybe if you're into gaming and things like that you can create a youtube channel for it. that's the only thing i can think of for someone your age. maybe you could mow lawns?

Well you need to talk to you parents about what work they will let you do...some kids here get paid to walk dogs..some kids babysit...some kids get paid to clean up dog poop weed or mow.

also you parents might have jobs too

do you have aunts or uncles...yardwork or babaysitting..

do you have toys and things you could get rid of at a yard sale

if you work for it you will appreciate it more...just plan to work hard and save and get it in 6 month...

open a savings account....responsibility...for adding to account...

relax it is a good learning lesson

you can still mow yards, I live in the south too. do baby sitting, with your parent's permission sell old games or players online

Pay whatever you can and then ask your parents to pay the difference and then not give you your allowance until it is made up.

sell hot chocolate or lemonade. also secretly selling candy at school (without teachers or admins knowing) can get you a few bucks a day if you are good (i did it back in middle school)
