Note, aquaponics is not hydroponics, it's the combination of plant growth with raising fish to more efficiently use water and provide the plants with nutrients while cleaning the water for the fish. Aquaponics can include hydroponics or it can use soil and sand.
As a business, aquaponics is labor intensive and requires constant energy, plus there is the danger of saturating the fish market as there's only so many fish suitable for aquaponics. It also has the capital expense of making the greenhouse and tanks. If you can find fertile land with a good water supply and wetlands, you could raise fish in ponds, pumping the water out for irrigation and drawing water for the fish from the water source. Agriculture is and will be a good investment and there are investment funds focused on agriculture. Aquaponics itself is more suited for a self-sustaining community than it is for investments.
Two million people is nothing, if you have a nationwide power outage, you'll have two million more people in nine months time.

Hydroponics, to give it its correct title is an extremely valuable way of providing fresh produce in inhospitable areas.
I have seen them in the Falkland Islands and in the Persian Gulf.
Why bother in Australia when there is so much fertile land?
What can be grown by Hydroponics can be grown much simpler and cheaper on ordinary soil.
I was able to save my marriage thanks to my family and friends. I also read a lot about marital issues and tips on how to save your relationship. The ebook on this site helped me a lot http://savemarriage.toptips.org
Check it out it's worth it.
Hi there, I'm 19 years old and I have taken an interest in aquaponics...but I while I am interested in it, I remain sceptical about it.
here's some questions I have, If you could help, I will be very happy.
Q1) Can you make a living from Aquaponics? how? and how much?
Q2) Does aquaponics have a future in society? or will 3D food printing or genetically modified food make it obsolete?
Q3) How hard is it to develop a profitable aquaponics business? and to maintain?
I live in Australia...and by 2025 (the near future) there will be an additional 2 million Australians to feed...what I am trying to do is identify if there's a demand for fresh produce in the future...food will always be a valuable commodity, even in a recession.
