How much do they cost?
How to know if they are good for your house?
Thanks
I consider them to be a long term benefit as an addition to home electricity, not a replacement, when it comes to 'getting your money back' in the long run.
Personally, I would never 'tie' in a solar system in line with my electricity subscription. You need to do your research on how these tied in systems work. When the power goes out, it isn't like the solar system takes over, no.
I have considered adding solar electric to replace electricity to power ceiling lights and low current draw items, such as a small LCD tv.
Yes Molly, I know few things about solar panels and they are as good for your house as the sun is good for you. The answers to the first two questions must be expected from the nearest to your house pros. Please, keep in mind that you're asking about a system but not about an item. Basic information you can find all over the net.
Hi Molly, Here are most of the answers you're looking for. I've tried to write it all here but I guess it would be to much in one post, so please check out the links for each topic for more details

I have had them installed at the American Society, the Salvation Army Children's Shelter and my home here in Guadalajara. They will pay for themselves in 6 or 7 years and will last for thirty years. Here we do not get paid for the excess energy we produce. In most places you do. In Canada you might have to track the sun. Here in Guadalajara, we are at 22 degrees north so stationary ones work fine. The people who sell them will be happy to give you the figures for your location.
