Congratulations on jury duty. It is an honor and a privilege and you are an honored citizen.
You can bring your cell phone, but while in court proceedings, the phone must be off completely.
If you forget, which you probably will not because it is announced before the Judge enters the room, you will have a problem.
Depends on the court. But no court will likely allow you to use it. Here, if your phone makes a noise in the courtroom then the sheriffs will confiscate it and you have to wait until the end of the day to get it back.
Different counties have different rules, but I'm sure most are fine with cell phones when you're in the common waiting room. But if you wind up in a courtroom with a judge, those things MUST be turned off.
Ask what the rules are, different courts have different rules, but the items must be switched off until you are told otherwise,if your phone rings in court it will be confiscated!
Sure but you must have it turned off inside the court room and the jury room.
Ask the court.
Can I bring a cell phone to jury summons or will it get confiscated?
Under my jury summons description it says I can bring reading material, laptops, tablets and wi-fi is available at the courthouse for downtime. Does that include a cell phone?
Also if I use their wi-fi can they track me or get my information?
