The SeaMaster looks nicer, and has been popularized by Pearce Bronson as James Bond. The SeaMaster is available in Mechanical or Battery powered(quartz). Very few mens Rolex are available with battery powered movements. All Submariner have been made with pure mechanical since about 2002. The SeaMaster is more modern. The Submariner looks dated. Sean Connery was known for the Submariner during his James Bond years. The Submariner will hold its value better, but really watches are a bad investment. The Submariner is more recognized. Beyond that they are about the same. Just in case you did not know: 1. Watches do not get you women. Women do not care or bother to notice watches. 2. A watch is seldom a good investment. Do not expect to ever sell your watch for what you paid for it.
