If you like US style clothes then American Apparel have shops in this country (eg Oxford Street and Carnaby Street in London). What they sell includes a range of tube socks (mid calf and knee length) in various different colours which look great with shorts. Other places worth checking out include Uniqlo (cheaper than AA but stuff not always good quality).
