In the auto-threader you've pictured, there is a very slender piece of wire attached to piece B that is inserted through the eye of the needle from back to front. It catches the thread and pulls a small loop through.

On mine, there's a little finger that swings in and pops a loop of thread through the eye. Don't recognize the principle of what's going on here.
