How to make my room "hipster/vintage"?

white and wood are neutral colors, so you can add pretty much any other color as an accent color.

You could hang some clipboards or a wire along one wall and use clothes-pins or the clips to hang art (even cards/doodles/quotes/maps, and feathers look cool for a hipster look). This idea is great for teenagers since you can easily change it whenever you like. For hipster and vintage ideas, check out thrift shops for items to decorate with (old globes, mirror trays, glass bottles) or bring items in from nature (long branches in a glass vase, rocks on a tray with or without succulents). Good luck and have fun!

Yes, fairy lights shining through your white lace curtain will look fab.

3-D Fandom Collage

Cut a large rectangle, square or circle from box cardboard or use a poster board.

To make the hanger, punch two holes 2cm apart, 5cm from the top in the center.

Thread both ends of a twisty-tie (paper covered wire used to close bread) thru the holes, make a loop,

turn cardboard over and twist the ends together.

Cut out and glue different size pics overlapping so you can't see the cardboard underneath, purposely glue pics so they hang over the sides and wrap and glue to the back, add photos, words, captions/quotes, lyrics...

Turn over and weight down til dry to prevent curling.

A med shade of blue, soft plush blanket, for the spread, and use over a high count white sheet set, will give you a nice ocean feel of comfort just gazing upon the blue/bed. The hook beside the bed can be used to hang a book bag. (The library offers a nice cloth one for a small donation of less than you can purchase one of this quality, designed nicely, and stated, for books. Much neater way to keep them, and safe, than a shelf, imo . The lights on the curtains are a good idea. Love the description of the bench/wardrobe.

Hi Katie,

You could try temporary wallpaper as an accent wall (most have free shipping):

The wallpaper can easily be removed.

Hope that helps,

Hi so we've just started renting (im 15 by the way) and I want to decorate my room. Just so you know the colours of the walls are a white/soft yellow sort of colour. I have a large built in wood wardrobe with a mirror In the middle of it and a bench. I just got a wooden double bed and I think I might get white blankets for it but need opinions on any colours that might also work well with white and wood. My desk is also white. I'm not sure what to start decorating with. The owners are pretty easy going with all of this. I was thinking, since my window is fairly large and has white lace curtains I should get fairy lights?

I have a hook to the side of my bed and I was wondering if there is any such thing as a small bookshelf you can hang from a hanger? What else should I put in my room? Also, I'm actually more of a fandom person now, but i want a balance of fandom and hipster. Thankfully I've grown out of most of my bands that i use to listen to. What can I put on my walls and stuff that won't be damaging to make the room look nice? Thanks :)
