You could try a 30/70 fridge freezer where most of the space is the fridge and you have a smaller freezer area underneath. I have one of these and I find it very useful. There's always the odd thing you need a freezer for such as a packet of frozen peas, ice-cream, frozen chips, ice cubes etc. Often you get special offers at the supermarket to buy two of something at a reduced price. If this is something such as sausages you can eat one pack and keep the other by freezing it. You can also buy things coming up to their sell by date and freeze them. I wouldn't be without my freezer but I did need more refrigerator space. If you can afford it this is the best option. If you can't stick to just a fridge which you will need to keep day to day items fresh such as milk. Hope this helps.
With people buying dedicated freezers the ice box disappeared from the fridge years ago as they were pointless and added extra expense. If you want one with the icebox you will have to spend more.
Fresh food will keep for quite a while in a refrigerator - so you only need a freezer if you are going to buy frozen food.
i am deciding if my current needs are for a refrigerator, or as presently, fridge/freezer and find the new models of refrigerator at basic prices have removed the icebox! does anyone who eats at home, without takeaways survive with 1) refrigerator with ice box 2) refrigerator without icebox AND no freezer. if so, do you have to shop daily?
