what probably could be the reason why they don't want you to redecorate your room? if it's money, then tell them not to worry about it and that you will save for it. you're grown up and tell them you are responsible for that. it is your room, the place where you can show your creativity. :)

My room is small with a red wine color carpet, light baby yellow walls and a white ceiling and moldings on the bottom of the wall. I do not like my room. I think it's childish due to all the girly butterfly stuff with stickers on my dresser of princesses. I want to redecorate my room. I like punk music and rock and I want my room to reflect it. So first things first how do I convince my parents? Where can I get the things I need cheap like posters and frames. I'm not good with crafts, I'm only good at playing piano and violin. I have a old vintage Tiffany lamp which wouldn't go well with my style because it's yellow and blue, and well I don't wanna get rid of it because it's a lot of money. Currently I'm cleaning out all childish toys. By the way I play basketball and have a lot of medals and trophies so idk if it would go with my style I want. Help? xoxox
