I am planning to move out of a private house after six years, and into an apartment building. Since I don't know how noisy the environment will be in terms of other residents, what can I do to reduce external sounds. For example, white noise machines, curtains, any thing else that doesn't require a permanent change to the premises? I might be lucky and have a fairly quiet environment, but I want to be prepared for noisy neighbors or poorly construction.
