Electric Meter Emergency Credit Help?

I am going to presume that before taking over the property you notified electricity provider who sent an engineer round to zero meter and provide you with new card/key. If this is so before leaving the meter would have been credited with £10, this would register on the meter as a debt and like the emergency credit you have used since needs to be payed off before your meter shows a credit. If however you are using the meter on the previous tenants card/key you are very likely paying off their debt, in this case you need to get in touch with provider immediately informing them of new tenancy, most providers have been confronted with this situation more than once and are sympathetic to the situation you have found yourself in and will usually credit any monies you have payed to the new account. Hope this helps. CALL THEM FIRST THING

You need to register card......with meter first..... If you have put money on card first.... might be a problem..

I have just moved into a place with an electric meter. I had to use the emergency money straight away but since then I have topped it up with £15. It says it was accepted but the meter is still on emergency whats wrong?
