Does baking soda mixed with powdered sugar kill black ants?

I have read that baking soda mixed with powdered sugar kills black ants as they can't digest it properly? Has anyone else tried this and it actually worked?

here is an idea if the ants are outside you can use powder chalk(the kind used in chalk lines for construction) just make a solid line around where you don't want the ants and they won't cross the chalk. The chalk messes up the ants homing devises and they can't navigate. This does work as I've used this to keep ant out of my peach tree and other things. Just reapply the chalk if it get washed away or the line is broken. Good Luck!

Powdered sugar will have no effect on the ants, for that matter sugar at all won't have an effect other than being a party in their mouths. They love sugar. Never heard baking powder will kill them. If they are outside, I'd just sprinkle some andro ant pellets. It works great.. If they are inside, buy a commercial ant killer. Home remedies for getting rid of them rarely work.

Or you could just go to a store and buy ant killer... I bought a tube on Saturday.. cost me £2.. its a liquid that you put on the ground, the ants take it back to the nest, and it kills the ants... easy....

like Bob said mix sugar and borax with little bit of water . that will do it . and its cheaper than commercial stuff.

you would have much better luck with sugar, boric acid and a little water
