Well according to Wikipedia, the only place those are found is along the eastern coast of Australia. Missed that during your research?

So I don't know what bug it would be. Just a regular tick maybe. It would help if you described it or posted a picture.

I live in Michigan and I found this bug in my house. I did some research and it looks like a ixodes holocyclus. But I don't know if they even live here? Does anyone know what this bug could be?
