1400 grade lining paper for a novice?

Paste 3 lengths of paper hang first length then paste another length hang second length and carry on so there is always 2 lengths soaking. Also start working away from the light .If you do get a joint not quite right it will show much less

Make sure you paste it thoroughly and let it soak well. If you are only doing one layer hang it vertically. It will look strange if you don't. Use a plumb line not a spirit level.

Get a long spirit level, mark out horizontals carefully and let the paper "rest" after pasting for the required time before offering up to the wall. There will be less waste with lining paper than a standard paper.

Start on the least obvious wall, and work around to the most prominent wall

Having a friend around to help would be a good idea too.

Hi, I am going to decorate my living room and the walls aren't great, I was planning on using a lining paper but have heard that the thicker papers can be awkward. I hardly ever decorate. Would a 1400 grade be ok for me to use? And is there a specific type of paste and method I should use?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Ps, I was planning to hang it horizontally, I brought 7 rolls of wallpaper (after counting the amount that I removed) would I need 7 rolls of lining paper?

Thanks in advance!
