how much money can you take out of an atm?

I want to move money I had from one bank account into another I just opened. the bank told me since I opened up my account if I put in money through a check they will hold my check for 30 days but I can put cash in. How much cash can I take from my old bank to put into my new bank account? I don't want to close the other bank account but I want to take the majority of it out for the new bank account?

I recall when it the single transaction limit was $300 to $400 at some ATMs, this is a safety measure to prevent muggers completely emptying your account in one withdrawal.

There must a more elegant way to transfer funds between accounts, you probably just need the account# and routing# of both accounts to he the bank do the transfer.

Depends what you have set up when you got your debit card .Normally $300-400 ,but you could have asked in your branch for that to be increased . Beside that you can just go in your bank and get as much as you need from teller .

1000$

the daily limit for ATM withdrawals is typically 1k.
