Is now a bad time to invest in stocks?

It is NEVER a bad time to invest in stocks, and Kevin's silly conjecture is just short of moronic!

What DRIVES the Stock market?

What gives stocks their 'underlying value' over the long term is profitability, which you can gauge by their P/E (or price-to-earnings) ratio....

What drives prices up and down over the short term is News, good or bad...

But if you buy QUALITY, you can ignore the daily, weekly, or monthly gyrations in price, and ignore politics.....and STILL make a sure 7-12% return a year, on average.....often far more, if you buy the right stocks...

Kevin's slur directed toward the President is made all the more ridiculous by the actual FACTS;

Dow under Clinton; 3,300 to 10,860 (UP 229%)

Dow under G W Bush; 10,860 to 8,279 (DOWN 23.7%)

Dow under Obama ; 8,279 to 18,139 (up 9,860 points, or 119%)

The BAD News is, of course, that you & I will be funding Kevin's retirement, since he will be penniless, clueless, & needy in his dotage....and we don't want him begging on OUR street corner, do we?

Invest HEAVILY when a Democrat is most likely going to win the Presidency, and move your money to Bonds if it looks like a Republican might win...

what is time? one could say that it's always time to buy stocks for someone out there, but you really have to evaluate whether it's the right time... for you.

Its never a bad time, you just have to know what you're doing and what you are getting yourself into.

A lot of uncertainty. I have little confidence in Obuma's handling of the war on terror. A hundred lone wolf attacks could seriously disrupt our economy and way of life.
