My paycheck is 312$ every week. When I deposit it into my account through my credit union bank app, they immediately deposit 200$. The other 112$ is on hold until they completely process the deposit a few days later. Chase bank may do the same thing.
Have you logged into your account from a computer and checked to see what is going on? Or have you called your bank to ask? Sometimes either there is a hold on part of the money when deposited or there is a purchase that took longer to come out of your account then you thought. I know someone who used Bank of America and they debited his account willy nilly all the time and he was in overdraft at least once a month because of it. He always checked online before making any big purchases because he didn't want fees added.
accountants hate the word "around." That does not provide any real clues.
but 378 - 178 = 200 ... is maybe a clue (ref alice answer)
... or maybe someone keyed in 200 instead of 244 ... ?
Do you have any direct withdrawals set up?
Most banks do not give you access to the entire amount of the check until it clears if your average balance is less than the check amount.
I have to ask... why would you ask this on Yahoo Answers... and not just... i don't know... Ask your bank!
