Most banks have a checking and savings account that are linked. Every bank I have ever used had a spending/savings accounts that you could move money back and forth without any fees. Ask your friends and family who they use and go in and meet with someone at the bank and they can explain your options. Be on the lookout for fees, some banks charge for overdraft, checks, etc... These are things you'll need to learn more about for whatever bank you choose. For the most part however, they are all the same.
best thing would be to go to a bank and open a checking account and a savings account. that way you can link the two accounts so you can transfer money into savings automatically or online very easily. They will need to see your ID, social security number, and some kind of deposit to go into each account to open them; it does not have to be a whole lot.
You would open a savings account for saving money and a checking account for your spending money. Open them both at the same bank. If possible try to find one that doesn't charge fees for checking and savings. You should also get a debit card for the accounts.
Thanks alot
