What is the point of campaign finance reform?

What is its purpose and do we still use it today in politics and elections?

1 - It's the attempt of the Democrat Party to have more money with which to campaign than the Republican Party.

2 - See #1 above.

3 - Only via illegal actions by the IRS and the Treasury Department. Read: not by law.

The push for reform has resulted in exactly what the Left wants. Only the wealthy have the wherewithal and connections to raise the extraordinary amounts of money to run for office. As no group of people nor ordinary citizen can now legally raise funds and donate as much as they can.

Which means a millionaire may no longer risk his fortune on a poorer man of good character and moral uprightness. Which means we'll never see a Lincoln rise to high office again. We're stuck with the morally corrupt elite.

I learned long ago the name of the bill is usually the opposite of the intent.

So when it sounds good you better hold on to your pocket or your azz. but that is how DC sells things they count on people TRUSTING them and being ignorant.

Once it's passed ....too late.........so sorry.
