cardboard and food boxes are generally in the same category.
I looked up your municipality for you. give them a call. perhaps you can take a tour
like you can here in Phx, AZ of their recycling transfer station.
remember your 5 Rs'
1st- Refuse what you don't need, (phone books, junk mail, freebies)
2nd - Reduce -what you use
3-Reuse
4- Rot/compost on site. (dig a small hole and put rot there, and cover)
5- Recycle is for last
Toss that stuff in with the newspapers. It's fibers are fine like newsprint. The heavy cardboard uses a coarser fiber which is why the recyclers like to get them separated.
Yes it falls in the same category.
I notice at the park last week there is a recycling drop off center. There are these mini dumpsters that are labeled paper, glass, plastic, and etc. At the end of the dumpsters is a bigger dumpster for cardboard. My question is does paperboard (cereal boxes and cracker boxes) fall under paper or cardboard. I tried to look it up on my city website (Columbus, GA), but I am having no luck. I was hoping someone could help me. Thank you so much!
