The price has come down SO much that it is soon going to be THE big new thing. Power companies are already trying to find ways to charge people with solar power more for their grid connection, because of how much income they expect to loose when solar power becomes as common as it seems it will be. You know it has "made it" when the "establishment" worries about loosing business to it.
Sometimes the local power company will pay you for the energy you produce if you are hooked up to the grid.
In some places it will be and there are always going to be power companies who will cut a good deal, as they grow larger with more users they may take pity on the consumers to reduce the power costs

now they don't want to save they only want to think of ways to make

From what I am seeing lately, it is cheaper than it was years ago. Also wondering, if a house has the control set up but not the panels, will another solar company cut you a deal?
