My son is 11 and he say he wants a debit card, we are thinking of getting him one for his birthday and we are just wondering what are the fees for getting and maintaining one?

I don't think you have to pay anything, you will have to sign and show I.D as your child is under 18.

A debit card is good for a child because instead of carrying cash around with their friends, they can pay by card and this will reduce the chance of money being stolen!

no way, that's the reason minors are not allowed to sign contracts, monies paid on behalf of minors are never sent to them, only to someone who hopefully is a responsible adult

I don't think you have to pay but you will have to sign because ur son is under age but don't you think he's a little to young he can lose it or buy stuff that's not necessary idk what ever you want but I think you should wait tell he grows up a little sometimes it's not good to grow up to fast
