A white or pale gray shirt with a deeper tone red silk tie would look fabulous. But any pale color dress shirt like peach or pale aqua would look super with a dark gray silk tie with some sheen to it!! : }

Any color shirt looks good with black vest and pants, try a shirt that is white. A necktie will look good, with the vest than with out. The type of tie material can be silk or any material. Since the vest is silk, the tie should most likely be silk as well. The color can be any color you like. There are many varieties of colors to chose from. There are solid and some are multi colored. It is up to you on the color.
