Maxi dresses and being tall?

Posted at: 2014-07-17
I love wearing dresses but I'm tired of always having to make sure my legs are perfect before I wear a dress. I'm starting to get into maxi dresses because their so cute and you don't have to show your legs if you don't want to. But I am 5'10 and I was just wondering how short is it okay to wear a maxi dress without it looking funny? If I wore one that stopped at my ankles would that be bad and funny looking? Please helpI love wearing dresses but I'm tired of always having to make sure my legs are perfect before I wear a dress. I'm with you! It's great to throw on a maxi dress for leg coverage and they are so feminine and cool and comfortable. Maxi dresses are supposed to drag across the floor but ankle length is okay too but no shorter. Your shoes are supposed to be hidden but if they peek out a little it's fine too. Just wear flat shoes and try to get as long of a maxi dress as possible. :-) I have the opposite problem. I have to wear 5 inch heels and my dress still drags on the ground! :-)

Maxis for the day are supposed to end either right at the ankle or just above the ankle or wherever you want them to end. really, when they show them in pictures on celebrities or even on retail websites they are a bit too long for real life. For safety's sake in the modern world you shouldn't wear them so long that they are dragging and sweeping on the ground -they can get caught in doors, the sides of escalators, and worse. So having yours end at the ankle is fine. Don't worry about it!
