I listen to alot of thrash and old death metal like slayer megadeth obituary vader exodus and want to look like a metalhead without looking like a poser and also cause im joining a friend's band. Listen to me: DON'T worry about people who call you a poser, no matter how you dress! I also LOVE metal. I play it on my guitar, I sing it, I mosh to it, I go to shows too often and I BLAST it in the car. I have for years. I live and breathe my music. And you know what? Sometimes I get called a poser. The WORST thing about the metal scene as a whole is how judgmental some people get. I get scoffed at almost every time I go into a show (Mainly because I'm a female, but that's besides the point :P ) But when you scream every word people get over it! Your appearance is an outward expression of your inward self. I, for example, dye my hair purple because I feel like who I am on the inside would have purple hair. Who do YOU feel like? Wear what you love! There is no one way to dress. Metalheads have VASTLY different styles. If you tried to imitate them that WOULD make you a poser!
