Would removing my carpet and having bare floorboards attract or prevent spiders?

This would likely have no effect on the number of spiders, but consider their presence is a sign of insects they feed on, and many insects can live in carpeting if not cleaned or maintained.

I let spiders stay around because they are good a getting rid of other bugs, and don't have to poison my living space.

Prevents all bugs.

Spiders HATE the smell of vinegar and other strong cleaning products that you commonly use on a bare floor. Bugs too cannot tolerate it.

But just remember a bare floor is bloody freezing and you'll find your room will be a lot colder too.

doenst matter.. spiders dont care if you have carpet or wood floors.. what would help is an indoor bug barrier spray like from ortho.. comes in a good sized bottle and is made to spray inside and out. so spray the perimeter of your room and closets and windows then use the rest on the outside of the home per manufacturer instructions and then used whats left after than on the rest of the house inside..

I've never heard of floorboards encouraging spiders, to the contrary, on floorboards you can see what's on the ground whereas with carpet, you never know what's lurking in there...

I think bare floors would increase them, at least if you have carpet they might only stay on the walls

compare spiders to fleas or cockraeches you will have your answer

I want to take up the carpet in my bedroom and have bare floorboards. Would this increase the number of spiders in my room or decrease? My bedroom is above the garage but the garage has a concrete ceiling so I doubt they would be able to get through. Or would bare floorboards allow easier access for spiders?

People with experience I would greatly appreciate advice!
