Why does the water in my kitchen taste weird?

It some thing that I never heard of ,as long as you have one water line source then taste of the water must be same in whole the building ,Except that if there be any different material pipes in the building ,For example ,copper and steel galvanized pipes it make difference in taste of the water .

How ever for drinking from tap (city water) you need to instal filter,or check you pipes if there's any corrosion build up in line ,which it can release taste of the lead and copper oxide in the water .

generally all your water lines are comprised of the same material so if there is no inline water filter which would be obvious in the cabinet below your sink that only leaves the fixture and depending on age can be made of many different materials my suggestion is to have your faucet replaced i have a saying i favor in such endevors it goes like this "hope for the best expect the worse" without bring able to visably inspect your plumbing guessing is all anyone responding can offer if no alterations (remodeling) has taken place then reasonably this is the only difference in the two water sources your welcome (in advance)

possibly older water pipes in that section of the dwelling.

Don't drink anything suspecious. Get a filter.

it might be filtered

whenever i get water i go to the bathroom to get it because the water in the kitchen tastes weird. i dont even like drinking it to be honest. why does the tap water in the kitchen taste weird but the water in the bathroom taste perfectly fine? i thought i'd make some sun brewed green tea and instead of using the water from the bathroom (like i should have), i used the water from the kitchen and now the tea i made tastes weird. any idea whats going on and how to fix it?
